Reveille is optional.
Here's the schedule. Follow it exactly or skip it entirely. Either way, somebody will bring you a snack.
Coffee at your door
Your counselor brings coffee made exactly the way you told us on the pre-arrival call. Then there's yoga on the lawn for early risers, or you can stay under the duvet.
Breakfast on the terrace
Croissants from the oven, eggs from the hens past the garden, fruit, granola and fresh juice, all served while the fog lifts off the vines. Robes are acceptable attire.
Garden, vineyard or sky
Pick herbs with the chef, walk the rows with our vineyard manager, or on Grand Cru sessions, float over the valley in a sunrise balloon (that one starts at 6:00, and is worth it).
The coach pulls up
Your private touring coach leaves for the day's first winery, with a chilled bottle already open. It's a seated, private tasting with the winemaker or estate director, never a crowded bar.
A long lunch somewhere lovely
A picnic under a winery's oak trees, a table in a barrel room, or a chef's lunch sent out in hampers. Then a second tasting while you're in the neighborhood.
Mandatory rest hour
It's the one camp rule we enforce. Hammocks under the oak, daybeds by the pool, or your own bed with the blackout shades down. Counselors will patrol the grounds with lemonade and blankets.
Pool, spa & croquet
A massage in the vineyard cabanas, a float in the infinity pool, or a surprisingly competitive croquet match. The losers pour.
Aperitivo on the lawn
Sparkling wine and gougères as the light goes gold. During harvest there's a grape stomp in the old oak barrel, and yes, we have towels.
Dinner, served long
Family-style at the communal table, out in the vines, down in the cave or at the chef's counter. There are four to six courses, and the pairings are poured generously.
Port by the fire
Velvet sofas, a crackling hearth, dark chocolate and figs. There might be ghost stories. More likely it's one guest explaining their new blend at length.
Whenever you like
Your bed has been turned down, the fire lit and a truffle set on your pillow. See you at reveille, or at brunch.
You will never drive.
Transport is included from the moment you land until we wave you off.
Airport arrivals
A chauffeured sedan at SFO, OAK or SMF, or planeside at Napa County Airport if you fly private. Water, a snack and a glass of something are in the car.
The touring coach
A private coach with leather captain's chairs, walnut trim and an ice bucket. Used for all winery days and field trips.
Sedans on call
Grand Cru guests have a car and driver on call for anything off-schedule: dinner in Yountville, a boutique in St. Helena, or a spontaneous extra tasting.
Departure day
We pack your bags, ship your wine and drive you back to your flight, with a care package in the back seat.
